Tea Time

There are so many young fairies, I wanted to explore the idea of an older wise and just as beautiful fairy woman. This sculpture is made of sculpty, all hand done, no molds. The eyes are hematite and the long soft hair is mohair. She is dressed in silk from India and that same cloth is what the beaded hassock that she sits on is made of. She has come for tea and the brass thimble holds a portion just her size. Her wings are gold wire with hand embroidered netting. She was made to just fit in the palm of ones hand or sit upon a shelf. She has already found a home through ebay. I hope to explore making more like her.
